We’ve all been there.  You’re in the mood for a different wine.
Maybe all the over oaked Chards have given you palate
fatigue or super extracted Shiraz has you reaching for
a glass of water.

From sepp moser

During these times of palate exhaustion I usually reach for
something different.  My blueprint wine for this situation
must be acidic, interesting, unusual and white.

This time I brought home a bottle of Muskat Ottonel by
Sepp Moser.  Muskat Ottonel is a variety of wine
from the Muscat family.  They are usually used to make
dessert wines in Austria and Croatia and some dry wines
in other regions.  It has the usual muscat characteristics
such as vibrant fruit and up front flavors.

This is a wine that hits my palate pretty well.  I get notes of
orange oil and rose petals on the nose plus a hint of dove
soap.  There is an intense amount of aroma. The more
I inhaled, the more images of fruits and flowers popped in
my head.  On the attack you get a rush of acid – strong but
structured acid.  The crispness of the acid transitions perfectly
into an explosion of different and intriguing fruits.  This wine
is very ambrosia/fruit salad in that way.  The finish is floral
with just a hint of bitterness reminiscent of a well made Negroni.

92/100

OK Diego every time I go to leave a comment on your site it says you said it, because you were signed in last. Above comment was mine. I’m too lazy to go erase it, I should know better by now to check ;-)
